Every once in a while, I think back to 3.5 years ago when my OB called to let us know we had some unfavorable, scary genetic test results. This kid has kept us busy from that moment on, but I can’t imagine our family without this wild thing. Rhett is so excited about his birthday this year. He requested the beach, “McDonalds in my mouth” and ice cream with candles. Happy 3rd birthday, big boy!
A Ford Island Maternity Session | Oahu Maternity Photographer
I always ask moms what they want to walk away from their session with. This mom told me, "I want to look back at these pictures and remember this as a joyful time since this year has been rough." I thought about that and really let it sink in as I edited their session. What a unique thing I can do as a photographer. Sure, the lead up to this session was stressful and I think we ended up on Plan D, but I found myself smiling as I went through their pictures. I'm sure this is not how she imagined her pregnancy would be, but at least for one evening, we could forget about everything else and just celebrate their growing family.
From the East Coast to the Pacific | Aiea Family Photogarpher
By the end of my time in Charleston, I was almost exclusively photographing repeat families. That's part of what made moving so hard. I had really gotten to know these amazing families. Almost three years ago, I got to take this big boy's newborn pictures and then first birthday pictures. Getting to meet his new sister in Hawaii is such a sweet gift.

Chinaman's Hat Family Session | Kualoa Park Family Photographer
Here is something I've learned during my first Hawaii winter (yes, we have "winter"). The sky will get dark, the rain will pour and then it will magically clear up and turn beautiful again. That is exactly what happened last night. It was pouring when our session was supposed to start, but once it stopped, we got a beautiful evening for pictures.
A Rainbow Smash | Kailua Cake Smash Photographer
We planned this session in one week… ONE week! It was just one of those sessions where it all came together and was just about perfect. This sweet girl has only been on the island for a short time, but getting to eat a rainbow cake (her first cake) on the beach is just about as lucky as one can get, right?
A very two year old session | Kualoa Park Family Session
My first session in Hawaii couldn’t have been more fun! This two year old didn’t make it easy on me, but honestly those sessions are really fun to deliver. Most of the evening was spent chasing this wild man around, but the end results are so sweet. And can we talk about this location?!? The best of what Hawaii has to offer and it did not disappoint!
Happy Birthday, dude! | Kualoa Park Family Photographer
I had so much fun chasing this (almost) two year old around for my first session in Hawaii. Happy Birthday, dude! And this location has the best of what Hawaii has to offer - mountains, green fields and the ocean.
Hello sunshine | Kailua Family Photographer
This was just one of those magical nights where everything came together. The boys were participating and listening relatively well, the sun was setting magically behind the mountains and we had this spot to ourselves.
